FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions 🐾
Everything you need before you book
What ages and dogs do you work with?
I work with dogs of all ages, from young puppies to senior dogs. "Puppy camp" focuses on young puppies (2-6 months) and emphasizes socialization, proper manners, and basic obedience. Older dogs or dogs with behavioral concerns may be eligible for my day training and boarding programs. More advanced training or behavior cases may call for a higher level (basic, standard, advanced). Not sure which program fits your pup? Message me first, and I'll point you in the right direction.
What are your hours?
Day Camp runs Monday to Friday, 6am to 6pm, with flexible drop-off and pickup. Hours for available services should be reflected on my calendar. Train and board programs may extend through the weekend. Private Training is usually reserved for Saturdays, but other times can be arranged; just ask or join waitlist and I will reach out.
Where are you located, and how far do you travel?
I'm based in Wylie, TX, and serve Wylie, Murphy, Plano, Richardson, Garland, Rowlett, Rockwall, Allen, McKinney, and Princeton. Outside that roughly 20-mile area, a small travel fee applies.
What's your training approach?
Positive reinforcement, science-based. We build good behavior with rewards and clear communication, not fear or force. Real-world socialization, obedience built to suit your pup's style of communication.
What vaccines does my dog need?
Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella are required. Please have your records ready when you book, and reach out if you're partway through your puppy's shot schedule so we can figure out the right starting point together.
What happens in a typical Puppy Camp day?
House-training support, one-on-one obedience, basic manners, real-world socialization, play, enrichment, walks, and rest. Full days also include kiddie pools, a daily report card, an overall assessment, and a graduation certificate once earned. Fresh ice water with electrolytes all day, every day.
What should I bring?
Just bring your dog on their own leash and collar or harness, that part's required for everyone. Everything else (bowls, treats, toys, enrichment, water) I can usually provide. If your pup is on a special diet or has favorite comfort items, feel free to pack those and let me know.
How do bundles and packages work?
Bundles are prepaid packages that save you 10 to 20%. You pay up front, get a code, and use your days or sessions whenever suits you within 6 months. One code per booking (packages and coupons can't be combined in my system, unfortunately, but if we discuss a particular deal, I can help set everything up uniquely for you).
Do you offer a multi-dog discount?
Yes. For day and boarding programs, two dogs from the same home get the second at half off, and three dogs get the other two at 40% off each. I apply this by hand, so just let me know when you book. I reserve the right to deny this discount based on initial intake/behavioral assessment.
Is Board-and-Train right for my puppy?
It's designed for dogs a bit older who are ready for overnights away from home. For young puppies, my day programs are usually the better fit. Booking for a young pup? Message me first and we'll sort the right plan case by case.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, or the session is forfeited. Prepaid packages are non-refundable and expire 6 months from purchase.
What about late pickup?
There's a 30-minute grace period. After that, late pickup is $1 per minute, so please aim to arrive within your window. Example: 6-hour mini day w/ 9 AM drop-off = 3 PM pickup, picked up @ 3:45pm = $15 late pickup fee. If 6 hour days are not an option, I recommend going with the full-day packages so you have 12 hours to pickup. I may make special drop-off and pickup arrangements at my discretion.
Can you use photos of my dog?
I love sharing pup progress! I may photograph dogs for promotion, but if you'd rather I didn't, just let me know in writing and I'll keep your dog out of it.
